model and design building merit badge

This month I had a merit badge fair for boy scouts.

This is the model of a catapult I(Cooper) built.

view with arm pulled back

picture of it loaded

a video of it being fired

Then we had to build a fantasy spacecraft (like from a hollywood movie)

this is a top view

this view shows the wings and large rear engine

this is the smaller engine underneath

and a close-up of the wing

a robot figurehead

a blurry picture of a chair and table in the back

the entry hatch in the back with a ladder

this was my second spaceship. As  you can probably tell, I was thinking of Guardians of the Galaxy when i built this

This is a view of the bottom. the hatch is the orange square

And IDK why but the picture uploaded upside down. this is the entry hatch

and the cockpit with the cassette tape player in the middle

the engines

the storage compartments

and the removable top

Why I Love Scooters

We built an amazing catapult thing

Cooper and I (Noah) were bored last year and we decided to build something.
We wanted to build something, anything really.
So we thought a catapult/trebuchet/throwing arm would be a great idea.
Here are some pictures.

So we basically went down to the bank of the Ohio River to "recycle" anything we could find.
Then we cut down a few small trees and put them together with duct tape and screws from cooper's drill he got for Christmas.
You can imagine how successful we were.
Or, if not, here's a video for your viewing pleasure.
